An alleged examination racketeer, Glory Fidelis Eteku, has been arrested by police operatives in Delta State for allegedly collecting N400,000 from a nursing student to help her pass her year-one examination in one of the schools of nursing in the state.
Stonix News reports that schools of nursing in the state are preparing to write the Preliminary Training Studies (PTS).
The suspect allegedly demanded the total sum of N700,000 and had already collected M400,000 in advance from the parents of the student.
The balance of N300,000.00 was expected to be paid before the end of the month.
It was gathered that Eteku is not a staff of any of the three schools of nursing in the state.
According to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye in a statement in Asaba, the suspect, who was arrested in Agbor by security agents, has been transferred to the Police Command headquarters in Asaba.
He said the suspect was already giving useful information to aid investigation, adding that she would be arraigned in court shortly.
