Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have apprehended six criminal suspects on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Michael Abattam, the suspects were identified to be bandits who escaped during the Izombe and Agwa raid conducted by the Command’s Tactical Teams.
The suspects were allegedly caught blocking Obudi Agwa road, stopping vehicles, searching the occupants’ phones to identify policemen in the vehicle for possible abduction around 10:40p.m on that day.
They were all rounded up by the Command’s tactical team while carrying out this activity, the statement claimed.
The suspects, who were all natives of Agwa Community, were; Mmadukaji Moses ‘m’ aged 30, Chigozie Amanyere ‘m’ aged 21, Ifeanyi Uche ‘m’ aged 21, Uzoma Uche ‘m’ aged 24, Sopuruchi Anumodu ‘m’ aged 24yrs and Chukwuma ‘m’ aged 30yrs.
One of the suspects, Mmadukaji Moses, was putting on a police operational vest belonging to one of the policemen that were slain in the Agwa Police Station attack.
An English made automatic pump action gun, two locally made Pistols, twenty live cartridges and fourteen sharpened machetes were said to have been recovered from them.
