A pregnant woman was wounded in a shooting that led to a multi-vehicle crash along the Gulf Freeway in Texas City Thursday morning.
The incident, Stonix News learnt, blocked a portion of the northbound lanes of I-45 near Holland but has since been cleared.
The Texas City Police Department said officers received reports of the crash just before 10 a.m. in the 3200 block of I-45 northbound.
When officers arrived, they found a female passenger who had suffered a gunshot wound to the back.
Police at the scene confirmed that the woman is pregnant and was taken to the hospital, though her condition, as of when filing this report, was still unknown.
According to preliminary information, the suspect in this case was seen driving a black Cadillac. Police do not believe this to be a road rage incident.
