THE Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JoSTUM) is set to host its 84th Inaugural Lecture, a significant academic event that will explore the forefront of sustainable energy research.
The lecture, titled “The Abundance of Nature: Green Energy Systems Harvesting From Natural Environmental Sources,” will be delivered by the esteemed Engr. Prof. Jacob Sunday Ibrahim.

The invite
According to an official invitation issued by the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Professor I.N. Itodo, on behalf of the University Senate, the event is scheduled for Wednesday, 12th November 2025.
The proceedings will commence at the Aper Aku Auditorium within the university’s North Core, with guests requested to be seated by 11:30a.m.
The academic procession is set for 11:45a.m, leading to the lecture itself at 12:00 Noon.

The couple
Professor Jacob Sunday Ibrahim, a distinguished engineer and academic, brings a wealth of qualifications to the podium, including a PhD and registrations with numerous professional engineering bodies.
His lecture is expected to address innovative methods for harnessing energy from the natural environment, a topic of critical importance to Nigeria and the wider global community as it seeks to transition towards more sustainable and eco-friendly power sources.
The Inaugural Lecture series is a long-standing tradition in Commonwealth universities, offering a platform for a professor to present the culmination of their research and scholarly work to the academic community and the public.
