PRINCESS Denise Yetunde Adurokiya was born on 14 March 1973 to the royal family of Pa Gabriel and Bolaji Obasoyin in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, where her roots laid the foundation for a life of devotion to her family, career, and faith. Her early education began in Akure, culminating in a bright academic journey that would see her pursue further studies in Marketing and Computer Operations. Throughout her life, Denise demonstrated resilience, resourcefulness, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

She attended Offa Community Secondary School and later honed her skills in Marketing at Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, earning a National Diploma in 2002. Her academic pursuits continued at Lagos State Polytechnic, where she graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Marketing in 2007. Eager to adapt to an increasingly digital world, Denise also acquired a Diploma in Computer Operations from TAG Ventures Computer Training Centre in 2003, later expanding her knowledge at Digital Bridge Institute in 2013.

Denise’s professional career reflected her versatile skill set. She began as a store attendant with Manfin Nigeria Ltd in 1995, a role she held until 2000. Following this, she joined Mr. Bigg’s, a subsidiary of UAC Foods, where she served as a cashier from 2005 to 2009 first in Lagos and later in Ibadan after getting married to her heartthrob. Her diligence and precision in managing finances and customer interactions highlighted her dedication to every task she undertook.

In November 2012, Denise took on a new chapter at the University of Ibadan, a role that marked the pinnacle of her professional journey. While on her new job as a staff of the institution, Denise enrolled for her BSC in Political Science at the UI Distance Learning Programme where she bagged her degree in 2019. Her relationship with co-workers and students as well as contributions to the institution showcased her expertise in procurement and her ability to balance professional responsibilities with her commitment to family and faith.

Faith was a cornerstone of Denise’s life. She was a devoted believer and active servant in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) as an ordained Assistant Pastor, finding joy in serving in God’s vineyard. Her love for God and her family was evident in her marriage to her husband, whom she met in Sagamu in the late 1990s. The couple married on 21 October 2006, building a home anchored on mutual respect and spiritual values while they take more responsibilities in God’s vineyard.

Her life was further enriched by the joys of motherhood. Denise cherished her role as a mother to her daughter, Sharon, finding purpose and fulfilment in nurturing her family. Her devotion to her siblings and wider family circle including children across board underscored her deep sense of responsibility and love.

Tragically, Denise’s life was cut short on 26 November 2024 after a prolonged 25-month battle with a devastating illness that forced her into a period of isolation. Amid the trying times, with her husband constantly by her side since January 2024, Denise remained a beacon of courage and faith, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew her.

Denise’s legacy is one of resilience, faith, and unwavering dedication to her roles as a wife, mother, sister, and professional. Her life serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the strength of the human spirit.

She is survived by her loving husband, their daughter, and her siblings, and several spiritual sons and daughters, who continue to uphold the values she lived by. Though her earthly journey has ended, her memory remains a source of inspiration for all who were privileged to know her.
