Road Crash Claims Mother On Way With Children To NNSS Ogbomoso

A mother, Mrs Faith Ebiheremeh Okodede Ibeh, died in a fatal accident while conveying her children to the Nigerian Navy Secondary School (NNSS), Iresa-Apa, Ogbomoso in Oyo State, for resumption.

Sketchy details revealed that the incident happened long the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday January 15, 2023.

Stonix News reports that January 15 was the second window period parents were permitted to take their wards back to school if they couldn’t make it the previous resumption date of January 8.

While Mrs Ibeh died on the spot, the two of her children – Destiny Emerald Ebubechukwu SSS 1, and Destiny Eminent Ebuka JSS 1 – she was taking to school for resumption after the Yuletide holiday, both survived.

The children, however, reportedly sustained varying degrees of injuries and were moved from the hospital they first had first aid treatment in Ogun State to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for further medical management.

Feelers said the two children are fast recovering and would soon join their colleagues for the second term.

Announcing the shocking tragedy to members of the NNSS PTA on January 18, chairman of the association, Professor Gbenga Fashiku, sympathised with the deceased’s husband, family and the NNSS Ogbomoso family.

“I sympathise with the school and all of us at this time. It is really disheartening. May the Lord grant the children speedy recovery,” he prayed.

Meanwhile, condoling families of the deceased, members of the PTA, Dami Aduke and Ayoade Ajani, expressed shock and grief at the early 2023 tragedy, praying God for the repose of the departed soul and a quick recovery for the children.

“This is such a sad news to receive this morning. May God grant her eternal rest.

I pray that the Lord will lay his healing hands on the children and grant the entire family comfort at this difficult time.

“Ah h, this an undesirable occurrence. May our God grant the fortitude to bear this o. I pray for God’s intervention over the recovery of these children. God, please show your mercy o,” Dami and Ayoade had prayed.

However, the funeral rites of late Mrs Faith Ebehiremhen Okodede Ibeh, an Esan woman from Uromi, Esan North Local Government Area of Edo State began on 3:00p.m Thursday January 26 with a Service of Songs at

Cecilia Hall, Opposite Tantalizers, Alapere, Ketu, Lagos.

A Christian wake and funeral mass hold at the deceased’s father’s compound, Late Elder Matthew Okodede of Uromi, Esian North Local Government Area, Edo State, on Thursday January 26 and Friday January 27, 2023 respectively.

Mrs Ibeh, who was 43 years old before the tragic death, is survived by her husband, children, mother, father-in-law, brothers, sisters, cousin and nephews.
