Olowokere, a former Sunshine Stars player and coach, reportedly slumped while actively involved in the session. Medical personnel on ground attended to him immediately before he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The 3SC assistant coach had only been unveiled three days earlier as part of the club’s new technical crew, following the departure of the Gbenga Ogunbote-led coaching team. He was helping the squad prepare for their second pre-season match against Abia Warriors when the tragedy struck.

In an official statement, Shooting Stars confirmed the passing, describing it as a “painful and irreparable loss.” The club extended its condolences to his family and loved ones.
