PASTOR Ayorinde AdeBello, a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has issued a statement following accusations of sexual misconduct.
The allegations surfaced on social media, specifically on the blog Gist Lover, leading to his suspension from church duties.
In his response in a written statement obtained by Stonix News late Monday night, AdeBello denied all allegations, emphasising that he had initially chosen not to respond.
“I had wanted to respond immediately,” he explained, “but was advised not to, as I was not the only one named.”
He suggested that the blog post may have mentioned multiple individuals to attract more readers.
The allegations against AdeBello include claims of sodomy with male teenagers and demands for sexual favours in exchange for assistance and opportunities.
AdeBello stated firmly, “I have NEVER sodomised or had sex with any male teenager before.”
It was also alleged that he demanded sex from men as a form of payment for help or career advancement.
AdeBello responded to this claim by saying, “I have NEVER demanded for sex from any male as payment or gratification in order to give them assistance, platforms, or positions.”
Among the accusations, a damaging picture was posted online, insinuating that AdeBello had an inappropriate relationship with one Mr. Jedidiah.
The pastor denied any such relationship, stating, “I have NEVER had sex with Mr. Jedidiah or proposed sex to him for any reason.”
Additionally, screenshots of a conversation on a WhatsApp group with male teenagers were shared online, sparking further criticism.
AdeBello clarified that the group discussed topics related to male reproductive health and self-esteem, adding that his guidance was educational and appropriate.
“It is disheartening to see that the screenshot message has now been mischievously quoted out of context,” AdeBello remarked.
He explained that the conversations included Bible studies, academics, and life skills, with a focus on fostering respectful relationships.
Concluding his statement, AdeBello affirmed his innocence and criticised his accusers’ anonymity.
“The instigators and accusers have used anonymity as their weapon of choice,” he said, reiterating his commitment to proving his innocence.
Meanwhile, an earlier letter from the stead of the RCCG Pastors’ Seeds Family (PSF) dated October 25, 2025 and signed by the Secretary, RCCG PSF Glob Council, ‘Laolu Oroge, had placed Pastor AdeBello on suspension from all church activities and positions in the heat of social media rage over the allegations.
In the letter obtained by Stonix News late Monday night, the RCCG leadership expressed deep concern about the accusations, noting that such behaviour, if found to be true, “undermines the core values of the RCCG Pastors Seed Family, which include holiness, accountability, transparency, and the protection of all individuals, particularly the vulnerable.”
The RCCG emphasised that any form of predatory behaviour would not be tolerated.
The allegations have prompted an independent internal investigation into AdeBello’s conduct.
The letter explicitly stated, “An independent internal and impartial investigation will be conducted. If the allegations are substantiated, it will result in your indefinite removal from any office within the organisation.” This investigation seeks to ensure accountability and uphold the organisation’s duty of care to its members.
AdeBello has been instructed to step down from all responsibilities and relinquish all privileges associated with his position.
This directive includes his removal from platforms related to the Pastors Seed Family. The RCCG cited screenshots of interactions on a WhatsApp group involving teenage boys, where AdeBello allegedly encouraged inappropriate discourse. “Any sensible person of authority and influence should not engage in such discussions,” the letter stated.
The RCCG’s Global Council has also urged AdeBello to voluntarily step down from any other positions of authority he holds, both within and outside the Church.
This step is described as a measure of integrity, given the gravity of the accusations, which the church leadership takes seriously.
In addition, AdeBello was advised to fully cooperate with the investigation and avoid any actions that could compromise its integrity.
The letter referenced Acts 24:16, reminding him of the importance of maintaining a clear conscience: “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.”
The RCCG underscored that the accusations against AdeBello are also criminal offences, subject to state prosecution if found valid.
“These allegations are criminal offences against the state and punishable by law, where a person is proven to be guilty beyond any reasonable doubts,” the letter warned, emphasising the potential legal consequences.
AdeBello has been advised to contact appropriate authorities within the RCCG Pastors Seed Family should he need further clarification regarding his suspension.
The RCCG has stressed its commitment to transparency and accountability in addressing this serious matter.
