The ceremony took place on Monday, 4 August, under the administration of Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac of Warri South Local Government Area.
Ebule Oritsemeyiwa Precious was guaranteed payment of his university fees for four years, while McCarthy Oritsetseyigbemi Jessy received a commitment to cover her school fees for 2025, amounting to two million, one hundred and thirty-nine thousand naira (N2,139,000).
Adekunle Oluwasegun David was gifted five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) to support his musical talent and educational pursuits.
Additionally, Mr Jolly Omatie, a dedicated volunteer teacher at Ukpotiki Primary School in the riverine community of Ukpokiti, will now receive a monthly stipend of seventy-seven thousand naira (N77,000) from Warri South Local Government Council.
Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, Chairman of Warri South Local Government, who presented the awards during a break-out session of an executive meeting, explained:
“This embodies the Governor’s (Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori) MORE Agenda. It is taking shape in various forms across Udu, Okpe, and other local government areas. The name Warri is a brand, and those entrusted to represent it must exemplify excellence and merit—qualities these young people have shown.
“You cannot have distinguished individuals from Warri South go unrewarded.
“If people who do the right thing are not appreciated, they might question their efforts. Excellence pays. Doing the right things pays.
“To the Warri Brand Ambassadors, carry yourselves with excellence and merit wherever you go.
