UPDATE: We’re Investigating Removal Of Clips Along Lagos-Ibadan Rail Tracks – NRC

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has vowed to investigate the removal of some clips on the Lagos-Ibadan rail tracks by suspected vandals.

Stonix News had reported that suspected vandals removed some clips from the Lagos-Ibadan rail tracks on Saturday, forcing the early morning train headed from Ibadan to Lagos to stop abruptly at Papalanto while the one headed to Ibadan from Lagos was also halted for the same reason.

The sudden stoppage created great panic among onboard passengers in view of the activities of kidnappers and insurgents in South West, Nigeria.

NRC Regional District Manager in charge of Lagos, Engineer Jerry Oche, explained that after the trains were forced to a stop, the removed clips were replaced and the trains continued on their journey afterwards.

“The trains have since reached their destinations after the removed parts were replaced.

“Investigation is ongoing to know who removed them because when our team got there, nobody was seen around there even though the clips were no longer on the rail tracks.

“But we are investigating to know who removed them and why,” Engineer Oche, reiterated.
