(VIDEO) Drama, As Imo Police Command Refutes Kidnap Claim Of Uche Nwosu

The earlier claim of the kidnap of former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Chief Uche Nwosu, has been refuted by the state’s Police Command.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Imo Command, Michael Abattam, in a statement on Sunday afternoon, said the politician was not kidnapped, but rather arrested by the police.

“This is to inform the general public that Chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped but was arrested by the police and Imo state police command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in police custody.

“This is to refute the earlier news that has being making rounds on social media that he was kidnapped by unknown persons/gunmen.

“The Commissioner of Police, while using this medium to assure Imolites of the command’s commitment in ensuring the safety of life and prosperity this yuletide season, advised the general public to always shun fake news,” DSP Abattam noted.

Stonix News has, however, gathered that Chief Nwosu was harangued and whisked into a waiting van in a Gestapo-like manner by gunmen during a church service where the Thanksgiving Service of the politician’s late mother, who was buried on December 22, was being held.

It was gathered that the guntotting officers invaded the sacred worship centre, and created an atmosphere of pandemonium in the church premises with gun shots renting the air.

A video footage obtained by Stonix News showed a state of chaos and anarchy during the forceful arrest as screaming worshippers ran for dear lives as gunshots rented the air.
