A yet-to-be-identified commercial motorcycle rider, popularly known as okada man, has been shot dead by gunmen in Agbaku area of Owerri, Imo State.
The sad incident occurred shortly after the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, made an official visit to the state to inaugurate the newly-acquired armoured personnel carriers to combat insecurity in the state.
Witnesses said that the gunmen came in a Toyota Sienna car and asked the said Okada man to come over, but he refused to answer them.
He was later forced into their vehicle and argument ensued as they opened fire on him and shot him dead.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Michael Abattam, said he was yet to get details of the information, as they have been busy following the visit of the IGP.
