According to the narrator, Governor Soludo’s convoy was ambushed while travelling at night after leaving the Anambra State Government House. The video alleged that gunshots erupted from multiple directions during the journey, resulting in the death of five members of the governor’s security detail.

Verification

Checks conducted by Stonix News show that the claim is false.

A careful review of the video revealed that the clips used were merely random footage of moving vehicles, Governor Soludo at public events, and his entourage, with no visual evidence of an attack or gunmen.

Further investigation into Mediahub Tales TV’s content showed a consistent pattern of using dramatic narration and recycled footages to exaggerate incidents and, in some cases, fabricate events that never occurred.

In addition, a comprehensive Google search for reports on the alleged incident found no credible coverage by major Nigerian or international news outlets. The only related reports found were past incidents involving attacks on the governor, which occurred in 2021 and 2022, not recently.

Furthermore, Stonix News came across the post on the event made on the official X page of the governor confirming that the governor was not attacked as the YouTube video claimed.

Verdict

The claim that Governor Soludo was recently attacked by gunmen and lost five police officers is false and misleading. There is no credible evidence to support the allegation, and the video relied on deceptive narration and unrelated footage to misinform the public.
