A Delta man has inaugurated a thatched structure built with palm fronds by his children to mock Federal Government, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Ughelli South Local Government and other political office holders over their refusal to effect any project in the area since they came into office in 2015.
In a video footage obtained by Stonix News on Monday, the man, who identified himself as a civil servant, and tagged the grove ‘Christmas House,’ decried the parlous state of roads and the total absence of other social amenities in his area.
The Delta man in the footage is flanked with his children in an obvious village setting holding a pair of scissors ready to cut a red ribbon to inaugurate the thatched house.
He described government at all levels as a disappointment to the villagers, calling on them to come do the needful before 2023 general elections.
Hear him: I’m commissioning this Christmas House built by my children. I’m happy commissioning it because here at Ovwur’Ode Ward 2 comprising of Ovwur’ode and ovwodokpokpo, the local government chairman and the governor have not come to Ovwur’Ode to commission any project.
“Hence, I’m commissioning my children’s Christmas House so that we’ll know that we commissioned a project here.
“If you pay them make dem come do project for here before the 2023 election make they commission, you no go see am.
“They never fall our hand reach? Presidency dey fall our hand; state dey fall our hand and even local government dey fall our hand.
“So, I commission this project today in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Who e pain make he go commission he own o.
“I nor bi politician, I be civil servant na me and my family dey here so. If e pain una well well, make una call governor make he come do project for Ovwur’ode make he commission.
“Make dem come do project for Ovwur’ode and Ovwodokpokpo. We no get road, no street light and no good hospital.
“We dey suffer from many things; na our school dey backward pass. No government representation.
“From Ovwodokpokpo to Ovwur’Ode, to Erherhi, no road. Erhirhi junction wey lead to Ovwur’Ode, that one don die
“From Ovwur’Ode to Orhuvworun don die too; road no dey, from Ovwur’ode to Edjovwe no road too na Edjovwe I dey stay.
“If e pain una, make una do project before the next election; that is 2023 election make dem commission am in Jesus’s name, Amen,” he prayed.
