AFTER his arrest on arriving Nigeria from Egypt, Department of State Services (DSS) has disclosed that they had found some incriminating materials on the embattled negotiator of abducted Abuja-Kaduna train passengers, Tukur Mamu.
DSS, which raided Mamu’s home in Kaduna on Friday, said legal action will be taken against him.
Stonix News reports that the terrorists negotiator was intercepted alongside his two wives, eldest son and a relation in Cairo, Egypt while on their way to Saudi Arabia for lesser hajj.
He is currently in the custody of the DSS to answer questions related to some critical security matters.
Stonix News had gathered on Thursday that the DSS stormed his residence and office around 12.30a.m and carted away sensitive materials, including computers.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Department, Peter Afunanya on Thursday evening to clarify their search in his residence and office in Kaduna, they alleged to have found some incriminating materials during the search.
“So far, appropriate security agencies have executed valid search warrants on Mamu’s residence and office.
“During the processes, incriminating materials including military accoutrements were recovered.
“Other items included large amounts in different currencies and denominations as well as financial transaction instruments.
“While further investigations continue, Mamu will, sure, have a day in court,” the statement concluded.
Stonix News reports that Mamu, a publisher, has been alleged to be involved in collecting ransom and taking same to terrorists in exchange for kidnapped victims.
Some of the security sources said beyond his relationship with insurgents in Nigeria, Mamu was also arrested because of his “Strong ties with a terror group in Sinai area in Egypt”.
