A woman who recently got a permanent tattoo on the roof of her mouth ended up in the hospital with a severe bloodstream infection.
Shortly after getting the tattoo, she began experiencing severe symptoms, including an extremely high fever and intense pain in her mouth.
In a TikTok post, the woman shared her regretful experience, stating that she instantly regretted getting the tattoo.
Five days later, her condition worsened, with her fever spiking and her mouth pain becoming unbearable.
“I got a tattoo on the roof of my mouth and instantly regretted it. Five days later, I started running a high fever. The pain in my mouth was unbearable, and nothing I did make it better,” she wrote.
She explained that her condition became so severe that her mother called emergency services, and upon arriving at the hospital, she underwent numerous tests.
The results confirmed that she had developed a severe bloodstream infection:
“My fever got so high that my mom called 911. As soon as I got to the hospital, they admitted me and ran a bunch of tests. The tests confirmed that I had developed a severe bloodstream infection.”
The woman shared her alarming experience as a cautionary tale, warning others about the potential risks of getting tattoos in sensitive areas.
