A former Governor of Edo State, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, has commended the enduring love and unity among the old students of Anglican Grammar School, Ujolen, Edo State, urging them to remain steadfastly united.
Professor Osunbor gave the commendation during the 50th wedding anniversary of the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Rev. (Dr) Peter Obadan, and his wife, Her Excellency Gloria E. Obadan, held recently in Benin City.
Osunbor, who chaired the historic occasion attended by eminent Edo sons and daughters, described Rev. Obadan as a hardworking man whose success was rooted in his unwavering service to God.
Recalling their school days, the former governor noted that they first met at Ujolen Grammar School between 1964 and 1968, adding that the celebrant was humble, prayerful, and academically brilliant.

“I was not surprised when Dr Obadan became Deputy Governor under Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. Till today, he remains hardworking and respectful to both the young and old,” Professor Osunbor remarked, also commending Mrs Gloria Obadan for her steadfastness.
The golden jubilee celebration attracted dignitaries including former Deputy Governors Asiwaju Mike Ogiadohime and Dr Pius Egberamen Odubu, as well as former Secretary to the Edo State Government and elder statesman, Sir Clement Alile.
The ceremony featured a renewal of vows conducted by Archbishop Joseph Ojo, while Bishop Felix Omobude led the affirmation of the marriage. The Anglican Bishop of Sabongida-Ora Diocese, Rt. Revd. Augustine Ohilebo, alongside Hon. Agharese Idubor and other notable guests, added colour to the event.
