THE operatives of Delta State Police Command have arrested an 18-year-old suspected cultist for possession of a locally-made cut-to-size gun on Monday.
The suspect, Difference Sunday, who is a member of Eiye confraternity, was arrested during a stop and search duty at Ekrarhawe community Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the State.
This was contained in a press release issued by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Bright Edafe and made available to Stonix News.
In addition to the gun, a blue beret with a symbol of Eiye confraternity was also recovered from Sunday.
It was also stated in the release that five suspects belonging to the Vikings confraternity and members of Patriotic Lords initiative for Justice were arrested on that same day.
The suspects, Christian Mordi, Odem Hunt aged 30, Julius Onoja 29, Obikoko Damian 33 and Ochuko Ofoye 34 were arrested by operatives of Decoy squad led by ASP Julius Robisnson.
Recovered from the suspects were one Beretta pistol with breach number A059977 loaded with eight (8) rounds of 9mm live ammunition.
Furthermore, it was added that policemen attached to Ekpan police station along refinery junction on Thursday, nabbed two Keke Napep (tricycle) male occupants who jumped out of a moving keke upon sighting the policemen.
When searched, one locally made cut-to-size single barrel gun, a cut-to-size double barrel pistol, two rounds of live cartridges, were found and recovered from the suspects.
The statement ended with a commendation from the Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass to the operatives for their effort in ensuring peace and order in the state.
