THE West African Examination Council is set to release the results of the May/June 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination on Monday, 12th August, 2024.
This was confirmed by the Head of National Office, Dr. Amos Dangut at the headquarters in Yaba, Lagos State via the acting Head of Public Affairs for WAEC, Mrs. Moyosola Adesina.
She said the result was being released on the 45th day after the last paper of the examination for over 1.8 million students.
The candidates comprised 49.73 per cent males, 902,328, and females 50.27 per cent with 912,016.
They were tested in 76 subjects, sat 197 papers, and were supervised by 30,000 teachers in secondary institutions across the region.
According to her, the council has tight adherence to a strict delivery schedule reiterated by Dr. Dangut which is aimed at making results available and a certificate printed for dispatch to schools within 90 days, 45 days after the last examination.
“It is worthy of note that WAEC is printing the certificates for candidates and calling all concerned persons to start collecting them from any of its offices across the country.
“This has been timely because students hope to present this to universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for admission since this is the period when the 2024 admission exercise began.
“Some have gone ahead to start admitting students and have announced dates for Post-UTME screening/test, thus making this period a very important one for all students seeking admission in this current academic session,” she noted.
