By THE 87-year-old revered monarch, Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, has passed.
He had been on his ancestors’ throne for 42 years.
Sources said he’d been on admission at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, Osun State, till Wednesday when he joined his ancestors.
“We are crying and mourning presently. We are not even picking calls from outsiders, but I can’t ignore your own that is why.
“They are moving personal belongings of the king out of the palace as I am speaking with you“, a family source told The Nation.
Stonix News reports that the incident has led to a tight security presence at the palace.
“Operatives of the Nigeria Police and Department of State Service (DSS) have taken over the palace as we have also shut the gates”, the source added.
