Why A Master’s Classmate Returned To Rewrite WAEC

A few years ago, I was on my Master’s programme when a young lady dropped out of the programme.

Although we were not close friends, I admired her from afar. She was a brilliant young lady with a promising future.

Suddenly, I noticed I wasn’t seeing her in class again. I didn’t have her phone number; we had no relationship outside the classroom.
Eventually, I asked after her from another classmate that was her friend.

I was told she dropped out of the programme because she wanted to correct a crime she committed years before.

I got to know that she engaged in examination malpractice (I don’t know the form or the extent of what she did) while writing her O’Level exams and she wanted to make restitution.

Dear young person, the safest thing is to do the right thing. You don’t know the height you would attain tomorrow, don’t do what would take you back to the bottom of the ladder.

Whatever you do, consider your integrity; consider your future. Do not be short sighted, be intentional about your future.

Do what your future self will be proud of.
