Amotekun Corps Launches Major Recruitment Drive, Seeks ‘Spiritually Endowed’ Applicants

THE Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has announced a significant recruitment drive to bolster its ranks, inviting applications from indigenes and long-term residents with a unique blend of paramilitary, artisanal, and even spiritual skills.

In an official press statement released from its Command Headquarters in Akure, the Corps unveiled details for its 5th Batch Recruitment Exercise (BR05).

The initiative, approved by the State Government, aims to reinforce the agency’s capacity to protect lives and property across Ondo State.

The recruitment criteria outline a specific profile for potential officers. Applicants must be Ondo State indigenes or Yoruba residents who have lived in the state for at least 10 years.

Beyond standard requirements such as proof of local government origin and a valid National Identity Card, the Corps is seeking candidates with “cognate paramilitary/security experience.”

Notably, the agency has cast a wide net for practical skills, listing desired backgrounds in local hunting, mechanical engineering, building construction, electrical work, plumbing, welding, tailoring, and ICT.

In a distinctive requirement, the Corps has also stated it is looking for individuals who are “spiritually endowed.”

Further conditions mandate that applicants be over 20 years of age, provide proof of physical and mental fitness from a government hospital, and present endorsements of good character from a Notary Public and their Local Government Traditional Council Chairman or a Justice of the Peace.

Interested persons who meet the criteria are instructed to visit the Agency’s website, www.ossnamot.com, from Monday, 1st December 2025, to obtain application forms.

The submission window closes on Monday, 8th December 2025, with shortlisted candidates to be notified via SMS from that date.

The Amotekun Corps was established under the administration of late Governor Olurotimi Akeredolu by a law of the Ondo State House of Assembly in March 2020, with a core mission to combat kidnapping, terrorism, farm destruction, and other criminal activities, while ensuring the safety of citizens on highways and in remote areas.
