THE Asagba of Asaba, capital of Delta State, Professor Joseph Chike Edozien, CFR, JP has passed.
The prominent traditional ruler and retired university professor of medicine from Delta North Senatorial District joined his ancestors on Wednesday at age 99.
Although yet to be officially announced by the palace chiefs, the monarch joined his ancestors after old age related illness.
An alumnus of the University of Ibadan, the Asagba of Asaba, was born on 28 July 1925 in Asaba.
Asaba comprises five quarters or “Ebos” namely: Umuezei, Umuagu, Ugbomanta, Umuaji and Umuonaje.
Within these Ebos are several sub- units or familiar villages.
