IMO State is agog as the family of the late Mazi Emmanuel Nwangwu Duruiheoma has announced the burial obsequies for their beloved matriarch, Ezinne Matilda Ikwuoma Nwangwu.
Ezinne Nwangwu (née Obioha), a cherished mother, grandmother, and community figure, passed away peacefully on the 24th of August, 2025, just two days before what would have been her 77th birthday.

She was a resident of Okohia Autonomous Community in Umuduru-Egbeaguru town, Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State.
A series of solemn ceremonies have been arranged to honour her life and legacy.
The rites will commence on Monday, the 12th of January, 2026, with a traditional Wake at the family compound in Okohia.
The following day, Tuesday the 13th of January, will feature the main funeral events.
After a Lying-In-State at 7:00 AM, a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Okohia.
A reception for all guests will follow immediately at the family compound, which will also include a special session for in-laws to pay their respects.
A final Outing Service will be held the following Sunday, the 18th of January, again at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, to conclude the period of mourning.
The bereaved family has extended a cordial invitation to friends, well-wishers, and the community, noting that the prayers, presence, and support of guests will be deeply appreciated during this time.
