US Deports Nigerian Man Over Domestic Violence, Other Criminal Convictions

IMMIGRATION authorities in the United States have deported a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Ajayi, after he was linked to several criminal convictions, including domestic violence, as part of ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.

According to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Ajayi entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa but remained in the country after leaving school, violating the terms of his stay.

The agency said he later built up a criminal record that included convictions for domestic violence, trespassing, intimidation and obstruction.

ICE also stated that his criminal history contained allegations and charges related to kidnapping, rape and family neglect.

The agency announced the deportation in a statement shared on its official X account, describing the action as part of the administration’s efforts to remove undocumented immigrants with criminal records from the country.

While confirming that Ajayi had been removed from the US, immigration officials did not provide details on when the deportation took place, where the offences occurred, or the outcome of the additional charges listed in his record.

The deportation comes as US authorities continue to intensify enforcement measures targeting non-citizens with criminal histories.
