CHEVRON Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and CNL, participated in the award ceremony of the 2025 Awokoya Memorial Chemistry Competition held at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun.

The event was attended by representatives of the Delta State Ministry of Education, the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), dignitaries from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) and the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), as well as teachers, students and members of the press.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Jim Swartz, who was represented at the event, highlighted the enduring partnership between the NNPCL/CNL Joint Venture, the Chemical Society of Nigeria and the Delta State Government, emphasising the competition’s role in promoting excellence in chemistry and supporting education in Delta State.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of plaques, certificates and other rewards to outstanding students.
The coveted first prize was awarded to Omazuwa Enousakhala Samuel of St Augustine’s College, Oghara, who distinguished himself among participants from across Delta State.
Chevron Nigeria Limited’s gesture and unwavering support for education were acknowledged and appreciated in several goodwill messages from attendees.
