Corpse Of Fatally-Wounded Suspected Kidnapper In Black Mask Found In Bush

Rita Enemuru, Reporting

The corpse of a fatally-injured kidnap suspect with a black mask was recovered at Iyuku road by Imeke Junction, Benin-Auchi expressway by police operatives in Edo State.

He’s believed to have met his death in the hands of operatives of the Edo State Police Command last weekend during a shoot-out.

This was contained in a statement issued by Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu and made available to Stonix News.

According to the statement, the killing was made possible through the strategic engagement of the State Security Acting Governor, Hon Philip Shaibu, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro.

The statement reads: “As a fallout of the recent strategic engagement of Stake holders in Edo State Security by the Acting Governor, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu, and Command CP Abutu Yaro, a kidnapper was decimated at Iyuku road by Imeke Junction, Benin-Auchi expressway, on 09/07/2022 at about 1920hrs while operatives of the command were on routine patrol.

“Others, who were wounded, took to flight.

“Subsequently, during bush combing along that axis, a corpse on black mask suspected to be one of the hoodlums was discovered.

“A locally made pistol was discovered on him.”

While calling for patriotism among the people of the state, CP Abutu reassured the public of the command’s commitment towards ensuring a peaceful and habitable space for Edo people.
