THE Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers has appealed to the Independent National Electorate Commission (INEC) to ensure that some noticeable glitches in the controversial February 25 presidential election are corrected to achieve a more perfect electoral process in the future.
This is just as the council congratulated the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his victory, saying the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, in Nigeria was satisfactory.
The council, in a statement by its Chairman, Oba Ayodele Adejuwon, on Thursday, also felicitated with elected members of the National Assembly in the just-concluded election in the state and the country.
The traditional rulers expressed delight and satisfaction at the conclusion of the election, noting that the outcome was a true reflection of the wishes of the majority of Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones.
The council specifically commended the Ekiti electorate, ”for their peaceful conduct during and after the election despite the tension that normally follows such election in the country.”
Oba Adejuwon commended INEC for the successful completion of the election as well as all the elected members of the Senate and House of Representatives from Ekiti State on their victory at the poll.
