GHANAIAN actor, politician and agripreneur, John Dumelo, has expressed his deep passion for agriculture, noting that the passion led him to venture into poultry farming, yam cultivation, amongst others.
Dumelo said he believes “agriculture is the key to creating a self-reliant future”, and that was why he “encouraged” youths to “explore the soil, invest in farming, and contribute to building the country.”

He wrote:
“The film industry was not enough to sustain me. Besides, I had a deep passion for agriculture, a desire to eliminate hunger in my community and beyond through my products. This passion led me to venture into poultry farming, yam cultivation, ginger, pepper, and cereal production.

“I believe agriculture is the key to creating a self-reliant future. That’s why I encourage our youth to explore the soil, invest in farming, and contribute to building our country.
“Agriculture is more than a profession, it’s a solution. It’s the only way we can create sustainable self-employment and reduce the financial burden on our families.

“If I ever return to acting, it will be purely for passion because agriculture has given me more than I ever dreamed of. The soil has proven to be a bank that never fails, always rewarding the effort you put into it.
“To all aspiring young people out there, let’s embrace farming and transform our communities, one harvest at a time.”
