Al Jazeera reported Sunday that five of its staff members, including a prominent correspondent and three cameramen, were killed when an Israeli strike hit their tent in Gaza City.
The Israeli military confirmed it had targeted Anas al-Sharif, the well-known reporter, describing him as a “terrorist” affiliated with Hamas.

The other victims were identified as Mohammed Qreiqeh Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal, and Moamen Aliwa.
The strike is the latest in what media watchdogs say has been a deadly toll on journalists during the 22-month war in Gaza, with about 200 media workers killed since the conflict began.

Al-Sharif was among the network’s most recognisable faces, delivering daily reports from the ground amid the ongoing fighting.
