By NO fewer than five persons have died and three badly injured in a head-on collision between a Ford Galaxy space wagon and a Mazda car in Kogi State.
The Kogi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) confirmed the fatal auto crash involving the two vehicles along Lokoja/Kabba road.
The incident occurred on Thursday in a village between Agbede and Agbadu villages along Lokoja/Kabba road.
The State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Samuel Oyedeji, who confirmed the incident to journalists, said that the two vehicles involved were a Ford Galaxy space wagon and a Mazda car.
He said that eight persons were involved in the accident while three sustained fatal injury.
The two vehicles were said to have collided while at high speed, trying to overtake a truck.
“A Ford Galaxy space wagon and Mazda car collided, eight persons involved, leaving five dead and three others injured.
“The two vehicles heading in opposite directions were said to have collided when one was trying to overtake a truck but met the other suddenly and collided with the one coming from the opposite direction,” he said.
