Popular Nigerian Disk Jockey, DJ Classic, has taken to his Instagram handle to share his life-threatening experience with some suspected armed robbers on eve of New Year.
According to him, he was returning home from church on Saturday, 1st January, 2022, alongside his mother and manager, when some heavily-armed men pounced on them and gave them the beating of their lives.
He wrote, without stating where the incident occurred, that: “Words really cannot explain the heart-wrenching and horrific things we went through today (January 1, 2020).
“Just a little after midnight, on our way from church after attending crossover service at my mom’s church with my mum and manager, we were attacked by a gang of armed robbers right outside her residence.
“This entourage of cars (3) came and double crossed us.
“They dragged us out of the car, beat us severely and severally with their guns, hands and legs; my mum got most of this beating.
“I just stayed there helpless. You can’t imagine the horror of watching your mother go through what she did at the hands of these people.
“I didn’t even care for how badly they were beating me. I was just really scared for my mum.
“There were about 10 of them, all armed with guns. They collected the cash from my mum’s sales, my LAPTOP, DJ CONTROLLER and phones we all had.
“In fact, they took everything we were worth including my CAR. They left one of theirs because it was out of gas. They emptied all our bank accounts.
“After they were through with us, about four of them suggested that they kill us, but one of them told them to leave us and that was how we were spared.
“They said they were going to take my mum. They put her in the car and started driving off.
“Out of desperation, I opened the back seat and dragged my mum out of the moving vehicle injuring her legs severely in a bid to save her life.
“Cut the long story short, New Year started on a bad note. GRATEFUL I CAN SEE MY MOM AND MANAGER ALIVE.”
