GOVERNOR Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appealed to the residents of Olodo to be patient as the government works towards bringing an end to their pain and distress.
Makinde made the appeal in his bi-weekly newsletter released on Thursday.
He said his government was in constant communication with the contractor in charge of the project and well committed to ensuring timely completion.
He, however, insisted that the government will not compromise on safety and compliance requirements, as they aim to deliver a durable project.
Stonix News reports that with the bridge’s design has already been changed to a two-span bridge, with Makinde urging the residents to be patient ahead of the joy coming in the morning.
The governor also disclosed that the government has extended its Omituntun Mass Transit Service to intracity routes within the five geopolitical zones which were not previously covered.
The government expressed satisfaction with the positive feedback received as regards the service being provided, and announced plans to expand it as resources permit.
The newsletter also mentioned the commencement of the distribution of the Food Relief Package as part of the SAfER programme in Oyo State, with the governor assuring residents that their feedback regarding the packaging will be taken into consideration.
Makinde also urged residents to reach out if they noticed any discrepancies in the distribution, promising that their feedbacks will be used to improve the delivery of the programme.
