IRAN’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a stern warning to the US on Monday, stating that any aggression towards Tehran would be met with a robust response.
This comes after President Donald Trump reiterated his threat to bomb Iran unless it agrees to a new nuclear deal.
Khamenei’s remarks were in response to Trump’s letter to Iran’s leadership in early March, which outlined a two-month window for Tehran to accept his offer for talks.

Khamenei dismissed the threat, saying, “The enmity from the US and Israel has always been there… but if they commit any mischief, they will surely receive a strong reciprocal blow.”
Stonix News reports that the tensions between Iran and the US have been escalating, with Iranian authorities blaming the West for recent unrest, including protests over the death of Mahsa Amini in custody and nationwide protests over fuel price rises.
In response to the US letter, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Tehran would not engage in direct negotiations with Washington but was willing to continue indirect talks.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned Trump’s threat, saying, “An open threat of ‘bombing’ by a head of state against Iran is a shocking affront to international peace and security.”

The dispute revolves around Iran’s nuclear program, which Tehran claims is for civilian energy purposes. However, Western powers accuse Iran of secretly developing nuclear weapons capability.
The standoff has its roots in Trump’s withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal and the reimposition of US sanctions. Since then, Iran has exceeded the deal’s limits on uranium enrichment.
