JUST IN: Obasanjo, Peter Obi, Wike, Meet In London

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

FORMER Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Labour Party LP presidential hopeful, Peter Obi have reportedly met in London.

According to The PUNCH, the trio met on Thursday amid yet-to-be-disclosed details.

It is, however, believed the meeting won’t be unconnected to ongoing negotiations ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Stonix News gathered that Wike attended the meeting with his allies including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke, among others.

It was further gathered that a meeting between Wike and the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is scheduled for Thursday.

Wike has been a hard nut to crack and implacable for the opposition PDP after fellow southern PDP governors betrayed him, allowing Alhaji Abubakar to clinch the presidential ticket.

Southern governors, it will be recalled, had all, party affiliations notwithstanding, agreed to have a southern presidential president to replace President Muhammadu Buhari after three expiration of his tenure in 2023.
