Three persons are feared injured following heavy gunshots in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State late Wednesday night by some suspected gunmen.
Owo is the country-home of the governor of the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Stonix News reports that this is coming few weeks after the Owo massacre in a Catholic church by suspected terrorists that drew a global outrage.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded Craneburg Construction Company around 10:00p.m and opened fire on the premises.
The number of casualties is still sketchy as of the time of writing this report, but some residents of the community confirmed the development
A resident said multiple gunshots have been reported in Owo when some people suspected to be terrorists invaded the town.
He said the incident occurred in the premises of the Cranburg Construction Company around Folahanmi Street in Owo
Three persons were said to have been hit by bullets of the assailants.
Another version of the telltale says it was a bomb explosion that rocked the town.
Meanwhile the State police Command has confirmed the incident in a tweet by the state police command
The tweet from the Command read: “tonight there was a shooting incident at Craneburg Construction Company, Owo.
“Policemen are currently at the scene, victims have been taken to hospital and they are in stable condition.
“Security personnel have been drafted to the area”
However, the Ondo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Fumilayo Odunlami, denied reports of any bomb explosion in Owo.
She said it was a shooting incident that left three persons injured, adding that investigations were already on, while urging residents remain calm.
