Ilaje, Ese-Odo Citizens Laud Princess Abike Ilawole For Landmark OSOPADEC Projects


CONCERNED citizens of Ilaje and Ese-Odo have commended Princess Dr Abike Bayo Ilawole for what they described as exemplary leadership, transparency and commitment to grassroots development during her tenure as Acting Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

In a letter of appreciation jointly signed by concerned citizens of the two oil-producing areas, the group praised Princess Ilawole for standing firmly for development and ensuring that the commission faithfully pursued the objectives for which it was established.

According to the statement, Princess Ilawole upheld the laws guiding the operations of OSOPADEC and did not compromise due process throughout her one-year tenure as Acting Chairman.

“She stood for development and ensured that the commission faithfully achieved the purpose for which it was established. At no time did she compromise the laws guiding the operations of OSOPADEC,” the statement said.

The citizens highlighted several completed projects executed under her leadership, including the renovation of the OSOPADEC Area Office in Igbokoda, which they described as a critical step towards improving service delivery and administrative efficiency.

They also listed extensive renovation works carried out across public schools in Ilaje and Ese-Odo communities, with many of the projects certified as 100 per cent completed.

Among them are Alagbon Primary School, Abe Oroyo Primary School, UNA Primary School in Obe Adun/Obe Nla, Aheri Grammar School in Agerige, LA Primary School in Orioke Iwamimo, and Community Primary School in Kelema.

Other completed projects include the construction of a wooden walkway and jetty at St John Primary School, Motoro; the renovation of LA Primary Schools in Amatebe, Biagbini and Ajegunle; FACM Primary School in Arogbo; and Community Primary School in Olotu Yara.

Renovation works at LA Primary School, Idogun, were also acknowledged, with some minor outstanding items noted.

The citizens further expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for appointing Princess Ilawole as Secretary of OSOPADEC, describing her as “one in a million” and a source of pride to the Ilaje and Ese-Odo people.

“We are proud of her and grateful to His Excellency for the confidence reposed in her. Princess Dr Abike Bayo Ilawole is a leader worthy of emulation,” the statement added.
