THE Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) have suspended their industrial action.
Yet-to-be-confirmed reports say the suspended strike action will last for 60 days following FG’s pledge to meet their demands.
The suspension was announced on Saturday after a brief meeting with the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, in Abuja.
Adamu had, during the week, disclosed that the striking non-teaching staff would call off their industrial action in few days.
Stonix News gathered that SSANU and NASU members will likely resume work in the universities across the country starting from Wednesday next week.
Adamu was quoted to have said that the Federal Government has committed N50 billion to pay Earned Allowances for members of SSANU, NASU and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
However, activities in public universities are expected to remain limited as ASUU remains on strike.
