NDU Don Found Burnt To Death In Car

AN auto crash that occurred along Tombia-Amassoma Road, Bayelsa State has claimed the life of the Dean of Student Affairs, Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma, Bayelsa State, Dr Ayasen Kemeakegha.

The lecturer was found burnt to death on Saturday, January 21 2023 in his car, a Toyota Corrolla with Reg. No. 06H 132 BY along Tombia-Amassoma Road.

Though details of the crash were still sketchy, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, SP Asinim Butswat stated that the 55-year-old Kemeakegha was burnt to death as a result of a crash he was involved in.

Butswat, in a statement on Sunday, while confirming the tragedy, said the corpse of the PhD holder in Physical Chemistry, has been evacuated to a morgue.

“On 21st January 2023 at about 1445 hours Policemen responded to a scene of a lone fatal car accident along Tombia-Amassoma Road, Bayelsa State, and discovered that the only occupant in the vehicle, a Toyota Corrolla with Reg. No. 06H 132 BY was burnt to death.

“Upon enquiries, it was revealed that the deceased was Dr Ayasen Kemeakegha ‘m’ 55 yrs, the Dean of Student Affairs, of the Niger Delta University, Amassoma.

“The corpse has been evacuated to the morgue. Investigation is ongoing,” the statement read.
