THE Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF), alongside the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, headed by Mr Sunday Dare, has reached an agreement to pay the outstanding salaries of Super Eagles‘ Head Coach, Jose Peseiro.
According to a representative of Head Coach Peseiro, the Portuguese has only received his allowances and bonuses from the federation since signing the deal as the senior national team’s coach.
Reports reaching Stonix News has it that, few days ago, Jose Peseiro threatened to take the Nigeria Football Federation to the world football governing body, FIFA, over his unpaid six months salaries.
In an interview with BBC Sports Africa, a top official of the federation made it known that an agreement between the ministry of sports and the federation has been reached.
“We’ve heard from Mr. Peseiro’s representatives that he only received his allowances and bonuses, which is very disturbing.
“His salary is being paid by the Sports Ministry but we’ve quickly made an alternative arrangement, in conjunction with the Ministry, to sort the salary payments this week”, he said
