A female police officer, W/Insp Olorunsogo Bamidele, serving at Ode-Omu Divisional Headquarters, Osun State Police Command, has been allegedly brutalised by DCO of the station, Matthew Ajayi for allegedly rejecting his love overtures.
The female cop, in a shot video clip, narrated that Ajayi assaulted her at the Ode-Omu Police Station in the presence of civilians and two constables for refusing to befriend him.
She said she had told Ajayi severally that she was married and wouldn’t engage in extramarital affairs with him all to no avail.
W/Insp Olorunsogo added that but for civilians around during the assault who rescued him, Ajayi would have wasted her with a dane gun.
Meanwhile, following the assault, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, CP Olaleye Faleye, to investigate the alleged assault on woman Inspector, Olorunsogo Bamidele by her DCO in Ode Omu Osun State.
“We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken.
“However we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF,” the police boss vows in a statement signed by Force PRO, FHQ Abuja, Muyiwa Adejobi on Wednesday.
CDO Ajayi has yet to respond to the allegation.
