The Federal High Court, Awka, is currently presiding over the case.

According to the statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Mr. Emeh was apprehended following credible allegations which were thoroughly investigated.

The charges against him were duly filed, and his arraignment was executed before a competent court.

The statement underscored that the judiciary, as an independent institution, is responsible for evaluating evidence and determining outcomes based on the law.

“The judiciary retains the exclusive prerogative to evaluate the evidence presented, determine bail conditions, and take any further necessary actions as guided by the law,” the statement read.

It was also noted that Mr. Emeh has been granted bail under conditions stipulated by the court, and it is his responsibility to fulfil these terms without resorting to unwarranted public outcry.

The NPF emphasised its unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law, ensuring justice, and maintaining professional standards.

The statement reaffirmed that the police would continue to investigate allegations against all individuals, including its own personnel, and subject suspects to established legal procedures.

In light of the ongoing trial, the Force appealed to the public to refrain from speculating or interfering with the judicial process.

“We urge all stakeholders, including members of the media, to present information responsibly and allow the legal process to determine the outcome in the interest of justice,” the statement advised.

The police also highlighted the importance of responsible journalism, particularly in cases that are still before the courts.

It called on the media to avoid sensationalism and respect the integrity of the judicial process.

In closing, the NPF reassured Nigerians of its commitment to impartial law enforcement and the protection of individual rights as enshrined in the Constitution.

The Force pledged to continue operating within the framework of justice, equity, and professionalism.
