Operatives of the Commandant General Special Intelligence Squad of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested four suspected oil thieves  in Warri with a Toyota Camry with Reg. No. BMA 786 TN and a Toyota Sienna with Reg. No. KSF 107 CD.

The vehicles were reportedly loaded with illegally-refined petroleum product suspected to be diesel concealed in a 25-litre polythene sacks of about 300.

The oil thieving suspects were identified as Clement Mike, 34 years (male); Tobore Morgan, 39 years (male); Jeff Oluchi, 29 years (male) now at large and a female, Chinwe Ikpeamachukwu, 40.

The special squad also busted a loading point at Odorubu waterside in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State where trucks used for the illegality were impounded.

These were disclosed on Wednesday in a statement by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NSCDC, Dsc Emeka Peters Okwechime, Delta State Command.

“About six tankers and articulated trucks loaded with stolen and illegally-refined petroleum products suspected to be automated gasoline oil (AGO) were impounded.

“Upon sighting the men of the CGSIS, the vandals used a 120 litre capacity tanker to barricade the only road leading to the illegal loading point to prevent men of the NSCDC from gaining access to the illegal loading point.

“In a determined effort to gain access into the loading point, our men engaged the services of about six truck drivers, two auto electricians and a tow truck, which towed away the heavily loaded 120 litres capacity truck used by the crude oil thieves to barricade the road leading to the illegal loading point,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the four suspects are said to be currently undergoing investigation for onward charge to court.
