Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Robbers, Recover Guns, Cartridges In Delta

Operatives of Delta State Police Command have apprehended yet another gang of suspected kidnappers and armed robbers in Delta.

The kidnappers led by one Chukwuemeka Ochu were arrested on the verge of kidnapping a prominent chief of Ogume community in Ndokwa East LGA of the state.

This was contained in a press release issued by Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bright Edafe and made available to Stonix News on Saturday.

According to the statement, Ochu and his gang were arrested on Tuesday, July 5, by Eagle-Net Special Squad led by SP Usman Dimka.

Three days later after the arrest of Ochu and his gang, Eagle-Net Patrol team, while on stop-and-search duty intercepted an Audi Saloon car along Sapele-Warri Expressway.

After searching the car, one locally-made pistol and two live cartridges were found while the occupants of the car, Joshua Stephen 20 and Wisdom Obanor, 21, were taken into police custody.

The statement also disclosed the recovery of a pump action gun, two locally-made guns and six rounds of live cartridges in a Lexus 350 SUV at Oghior/ Imode road, in Ughelli South LGA on Wednesday, July 6.

The occupants of the car escaped into the bush on sighting police operatives attached to Otu-Jeremi Police Station while on stop-and-search duty.

Investigation revealed that the SUV was earlier snatched from the owner along Ughelli-Warri Road and manhunt for the fleeing suspect is ongoing.
