Police Nab Three Female Child Traffickers, Counterfeit Naira Suspect In Delta

Operatives of Delta State Command have nabbed three suspects who were involved in child trafficking and another who was in possession of counterfeit money.

According to a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP), Bright Edafe and made available to Stonix News, the suspects were arrested on Sunday, June 24, 2022.

The statement disclosed that the suspects who were residents of Omerigboma Village Oko, Oshimili South, Delta State, were apprehended on the verge of taking one Chidima, a 16-year-old girl to Mali for prostitution.

The statement gave the names of the suspects as: Ado-Obi Oguguo ‘f’ age 38, Chidima Osita age 36 and Nkirnka Ikechukwu ‘f’ age 30.

The statement reads: “the Command received a complaint via petition to the Area Commander Asaba, written on behalf of a victim of child trafficking (Name withheld) age 13yrs, a native of Izza North LGA of Ebonyi State, who was to be taken to Onicha-Ugbo for prostitution.

“A combined team of Policemen and vigilante embarked on an intelligence led operation, which led to the arrest of three suspects namely; Ado-Obi Oguguo ‘f’ age 38yrs, Chidima Osita age 36yrs, and Nkirnka Ikechukwu ‘f’ age 30yrs, all residing at Omerigboma Village Oko, Oshimili South, Delta State.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that, suspects were into prostitution, and on 22/6/2022, they arranged for a girl named Chidima surname unknown age 16yrs to be taken to Mali for prostitution. Investigation is ongoing and effort to arrest other members of the syndicate is ongoing”

On the same vein, Operatives arrested one Michael Ozor who made a POS transaction with fake naira notes by Eagle-Net Special Squad while on Patrol on Tuesday, 28, 2022.

The statement claimed that Odor was being beaten by a mob when he was rescued and arrested.

The sum of 80,000 which were in fake naira notes were recovered from him according to the statement.
