Police Reinforce Security In Ogidi Anambra

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

THE Anambra State Police Command has reinforced security in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

The reinforcement followed the attack on the Ogidi Area Command in the early hours of Saturday January 18, in which three police operatives paid the supreme price.

Stonix News reports that the hoodlums started shooting sporadically on approaching the area command and threw IEDs and petrol bombs, gaining entrance.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Police Command, while confirming the attack and state of insecurity, said besides the killing of three policemen, the buildings in the police facility were also affected.

“However, the Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng observed with grave concern the loss of life and valuables as a result of this attack, calls for calm as the police are resolute in depriving these criminal elements of the space they desire to perpetrate their evil acts and enhance the safety of life and property in the state.

“Meanwhile, the incident is being accessed and Police operations are still ongoing,” he noted.
