FEMI Ogunrombi was a legendary actor whose contributions to the entertainment industry should never be forgotten.
He gained widespread recognition for his role as Papa Ajasco in Wale Adenuga’s Papa Ajasco and Company after Abiodun Ayoyinka stepped down from the comedy series.
Ogunrombi, a remarkable talent, studied music and drama at Obafemi Awolowo University.

While there, he founded a choral group named The Ayoro Voices, which went on to feature in radio and TV programs on BCOS, OGTV, and NTA Ibadan.
This group, which included Ayo Thomas, Jide Ogundipe, and Iyabo Omomeji, became the cultural representation of OAU in 1980 and 1983.
Music was Femi Ogunrombi’s true passion, and he dedicated himself to it. Unlike his twin brother, who pursued the sciences, Ogunrombi switched from studying medicine to music at the University of Ife. There, he and other gifted individuals formed the Ayoro Voices.

In 1994, Ogunrombi joined the National Troupe of Nigeria as a music facilitator.
By 1998, he had risen to the position of director of music and conductor of the National Choir. He also worked as a consultant for the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture in 1999, and later for the Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture in 2014.
In 2006, Ogunrombi took on the iconic role of Papa Ajasco in the beloved TV series Papa Ajasco and Company. During this time, he also served as the Coordinator of Studies at Adenuga’s PEFTI Film Institute.
Sadly, Ogunrombi passed away on Saturday, 14 January 2023.
