Some gunmen suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN) have killed one person, burnt two trucks, a car and trycycle in the outskirt of Asaba, Delta State capital to enforce their sit-at-home order.
Stonix News reports that the attack came barely few days after the emergence of a viral threat letter of attacks in Asaba, warning residents of the state capital to comply with the sit-at-home order or face the consequences.
Commissioner of Police, Delta Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, while addressing journalists on Wednesday, confirmed the incident.
The incident, he said, occurred at Ugbolu in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.
He vowed to flush out criminal elements masquerading in whatever guise across the state, while urging residents to remain calm.
