BREAKING: EFCC Arrests Former NDDC MD, Ekere, Over Alleged N47b Fraud

Ola ‘Kiya, Reporting

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Nsima Ekere.

Stonix News gathered that Ekere is being investigated over diversion of over N47 billion in public funds through bloated contracts.

It will be recalled that Ekere’s arrest followed the arrest of the country’s accountant-general, Ahmed Idris over fraud to the tune of N80 billion.

Idris is still in the custody of the anti-graft agency and was earlier, on Wednesday, suspended from office by the country’s Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed.

EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Ekere was in their custody and being currently grilled by operatives of the anti-graft agency.
