Commuters in Effurun and its environs are advised to expect traffic disruptions at the PTI roundabout and along the expressway due to ongoing high-voltage cable relocation works.
The project, involving the repositioning of 330 kV cables, will require temporary and periodic road closures across two separate outage periods.
The first phase of the planned outage will take place from Sunday, 25th to Tuesday, 27th May 2025. On Sunday, traffic lanes along PTI–Airport Road will be intermittently closed and reopened every 15 to 20 minutes from 8:00am to 2:00pm.
The same pattern of lane closures will continue on Monday, 26th May, between 12:00am and 5:00pm, affecting both the expressway and PTI–Airport Road.
On Tuesday, 27th May, lane closures will persist from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
The second phase is scheduled from Friday, 30th May to Sunday, 1st June 2025. On Friday, traffic interruptions will occur from 8:00am to 2:00pm, impacting the expressway and PTI Airport Road.
Saturday, 31st May, will see further disruptions between 12:00am and 3:00pm, while Sunday, 1st June, will experience lane closures from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Both days will affect the expressway.
Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes or allow extra travel time to avoid delays.
The temporary measures are necessary to ensure the safe and successful completion of the infrastructure works.
The notice was issued by project coordinator Thomas Haug, who extended his appreciation to the public for their understanding and cooperation.
